THE STORY
Before the Web Had a Name for "Joining" a Website,
Kyle Was Already Building Them.
A 25+ year story of being early, being right, and building the platforms other people only caught up to. This is how TribePUB came to be – and why the team behind it can trace its expertise back further than almost anyone in the industry.
Kyle tells the story himself - 24 minutes.
Chapter 01
1988–2000
A Lab, a Triple Major,
and a Hunch About Connection.
Kyle first touched a computer in high school in 1988 and never really put it down. He went on to study Engineering Physics in college — a triple major in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics – where he learned to program and ran the computer lab in the science building. He chased other entrepreneurial pursuits after college, but the machines kept pulling him back. He consulted on hardware and software through the late ’80s and ’90s, sensing something most people couldn’t yet see: that computers weren’t really about computing. They were about connecting people.
Chapter 02
2000
He Could Leave a Broken Industry.
He Chose to Fix It.
In 2000, a mentor introduced Kyle to network marketing – low startup cost, simple model, and in his case, a tech-product company. He had early success, then ran into a hard truth: 9 out of 10 people failed, and his conscience wouldn’t let him keep promoting it as-is. Two options: leave, or stay and fix it. He stayed. The industry ran on cassette tapes and VHS – reps bought cases of them, mailed them to prospects, then made awkward follow-up calls hoping someone had watched. It was expensive, slow, and full of friction. Kyle decided to solve all three problems at once.
"Leave the industry, or stay and see if he could fix it. He chose to stay."
Chapter 03
2000–2002
Streaming Video Over a 14.4k Modem.
In the Year 2000.
"The concept of building a website by hand was only five years old. Kyle was already streaming video into membership platforms."
Chapter 04
2002–2010
From One Company
to Millions of Members.
Because Kyle and his team were genuine pioneers in streaming media and what were then called Replicating Web Pages, they grew from a single client to 250+ companies licensing their platform – hundreds of thousands, then millions, of members. By 2002 he’d written his first book on the system and filed his patent. By 2005 they’d expanded far beyond network marketing: coaches, consultants, authors, pastors, ministries, business networks – any organization that needed a central home for content, community, and commerce. For context, WordPress and MySpace were founded in 2003; Facebook launched in 2004. Kyle was years ahead of all of them.
Chapter 05
2010
Mastery Freed Him
to Chase a Harder Question.
Chapter 06
2015–2025
Retiring 4.5 Million Lines of Code
to Build Something More Durable.
By 2015, with his adult children moving from the media side into the platform side, Kyle made a bold call: begin retiring the 4.5 million lines of custom code the team had written, and migrate into the WordPress ecosystem. They retired their CMS, their CRM, their LMS – adopting best-in-class tools and only custom-coding when truly necessary. It took a full decade to do it right, dialing in a stack that could carry enterprise-level membership platforms. The brand became TribePUB to reflect the new focus. And this is the era where their signature philosophy crystallized: minimize risk, complexity, and cost – build on proven foundations, own everything, never become a black box.
Chapter 07
2020–2026
Proof,
in Public.
In 2020 the team began taking on clients through UpWork – and quickly became the top-ranked, only Expert Vetted Membership and Gamification developer on the platform, a status fewer than 1% of millions of freelancers ever reach. It’s the clearest outside proof of a claim Kyle had earned over two decades: among the best in the world at this. By 2025, AI hit a tipping point his clients were ready for, and TribePUB began deploying AI agents and agentic automation. In 2026, the team returned to its original roots – offering their dialed-in platform as a true SaaS, so a Tribe Leader can now launch on their own or bring in the team for as much help as they want.
"The only Expert Vetted Membership & Gamification developer on UpWork — top 1% of millions."
WHO'S BEHIND IT
A Family Business,
and a Team Across the World.
Through all of it, this has been a family endeavor. Tari, Kyle’s wife, has been the backbone of operations and finance. Blake and Brooke, his children, grew up in the studios — running cameras and editing bays as kids, eventually on-camera talent, now leading much of the operations and marketing as Kyle moves into his legacy phase. Around the family is a lean, loyal team: a senior developer of 25+ years, 20+ full-time members, 30+ more part-time, and growing developer networks in WordPress and AI — all amplified by AI handling the routine so the humans can do the work that matters.
Kyle calls himself a Tribe Platform Architect. The story is just proof of what that means.
That's How We Got Here.
Now Let's Talk About Where You're Going.
25+ years of being early means we’ve already seen the road you’re on. Let’s put that experience to work on your platform.
